Happy Easter!

Tervetuloa hetkeksi tutkailemaan hieman erilaista pääsiäistä.

Katsele ja kuuntele.
Ole utelias ja avoin.

Ensin jokainen saa mutustella suussaan englanninkielisiä pääsiäissanoja.
Kuuntele ja toistele rohkeasti perässä.

EASTER WORDS

Mitä sanoja sinulle jäi mieleen? Tässä on mukava peli yhdessä pelattavaksi.

Seuraavaksi nähdään, kuinka pääsiäistä vietetään Englannissa.

EASTER IN BRITAIN

Eliana ja Elysia ovat amerikkalaiset siskokset, joiden piirtämänä pääsiäinen saa aivan uusia ulottuvuuksia. Kuuluivatkohan kännykät ja pizza jo Jeesuksen ajan elämään...

A VERY SPECIAL SUNDAY

Pääsiäispupu saattaapi pääsiäisenä tupsahtaa ties mistä.
Ota vihkosi esiin. Piirretäänpäs kaikille omat puput.

HOW TO DRAW AN EASTER BUNNY

Tämän kauniin laulun myötä toivotamme kaikille rauhallista pääsiäistä.

Happy Easter! And bye, bye!

P.S. Yhdysvaltalaisilla homma karkaa monesti lapasesta;

P.P.S. Some nice Easter pages in our stars' notebooks :)

Have a good day! See you Thursday!

P.S. Thank you, Eetu :)

The sixth graders' Monday

Hello, sweeties!

It's Monday and Final Countdown time again! By the way, could you explain the final countdown thing to Eetu, please?

Sorry for being away. My daughter Vilma is sick. She has a fever and a very sore throat. Hopefully she will be fine soon and we'll be back in business together.

But you take a good care of Eetu and behave. No hustle and bustle, alright?

Now let's get into business; the adjectives and the verbs.

1) Take a pencil, a rubber and your notebook.

2) Write your title, the verbs or the adjectives, on a blank page in your notebook.

3) Watch and listen the following videos

Comparing adjectives

Verbs and tenses

4) Now watch and listen the story read by "Harry Potter" himself

Me and My Cat

* write ten adjectives or ten verbs in English and in Finnish from the story

5) Start now and continue at home

If you have the VERBS,

Write a story about your week starting from last Friday.

* What did you do on the weekend?
* What do you have at school?
* What did you eat?
* What plans do you have for the rest of the week?

If you have the adjectives,

* Think about the school and your class and classmates
* Describe and compare them = kuvaile ja vertaile niitä
* Some questions to help you:

What is you school like?
What's best about your school?
What are the most important subjects?
Is something more important?
What about your class and classmates?
Who is the oldest, the youngest, the fastest?
Who is taller than you? Who is shorter?

Return your notebook with the story in it on Wednesday to Sanna.

Have a good day!

The fourth graders' Monday

Hello, sweethearts!

It's Monday and time for English again!

Sorry for being away. My daughter Vilma is sick. She has a fever and a very sore throat. Hopefully she will be fine soon and we'll be back in business together.

But you take a good care of Eetu and be gentle :)

Now together with him answer first the following questions:

How did the exam go?
How was your weekend?
Is everything alright?
What day is it today?
What month is it?
What did you eat for breakfast?

Now you will take a short look at some of the new topics with Eetu and see how much you know already. You did the same thing with Emma in January.

Listen, discuss the meaning with Eetu and follow the instructions. Again there's no rush.

1) take your notebook and pencil (do you have everything with you? Who needs paper?)

2) open two blank pages ( = aukeama)

3) write the title "Chapters 12 - 15"

4) draw six squares that are about five centimetres tall and wide

5) give each square a title

6) the titles are the following

WHAT'S WRONG? - being sick

BODY PARTS

FARM ANIMALS

WILD ANIMALS

PROFESSIONS

CLOTHES

Now, the same as last time, write at least three words in English in each "box".
Do you know any wild animals in English? How many clothes can you remember?

You can write more, of course. Try first without any help. Friends, books and translators can help after some hard thinking.

And last your homework:

1) Tutustu huolella kappaleen 12 Start-sivuun

2) Oletko sinä joskus ollut kipeänä? Kirjoita vihkoosi sairauksiasi Start-sivua apuna käyttäen

3) Lue ja mielellään myös kuuntele kappale 12

* Where are Jane, Whiz and Sandy?
* What's wrong?
